Each year, books for young people and the joy of reading are feted for a full week with author and illustrator appearances, storytelling, parties, and other book-related events at schools, libraries, bookstores, museums, and homes from coast to coast!

by Lori Mitchell as the prize because I think it sends a great message, and I consider it a book that could make an impact on both adults and children.

I would love to get this book for my daughter who is legally blind. She also has scars on her neck and back from brain and spine surgery. I always try to tell her that she is special because of it but she is more embarrassed.
